Random facts I thought were interesting

There are more breweries in the U.S., than any other country in the world. Which didn't make sense to me at first because of how low we are on comsumption per capita chart. But then I realized how many people we have compared the the Czech Republic, and Ireland.
There are over 200 types of lagers and ales in production around the world today.
Before brewers had thermometers, remember beers been around for thousands of years, they would dip their thumb in the beer to calculate when to add the yeast into the brew, this is where the modern expression "rule of thumb" originated.
In ancient history, tavern owners found guilty of over charging for their beer were put to death by drowning. Pretty gruesome.
The first beer cans were made in 1935, when there was a need to transport beer in personal containers for more practical home consumption.
Jim Whitake was the first man to scale Mount Everest. A can of Seattle's own Rainer beer went with him.
According to a diary from a passenger on the Mayflower, the pilgrims stopped at Plymouth Rock instead of continuing to Virginia because they had run out of beer.
Main ingredients

The main ingredients in beer include water, yeast, malt, hops, and what ever else we, or beer companies think of.
For the water, never use tap or distilled water. This would potentially ruin what you believe your beer is going to turn out to be. Seeing as though water is the main ingredient in beer, I would just stick with using filtered water.
Yeast, its what makes beer...beer. It creates the alcohol and the carbonation of the beer. Without yeast, you'd just have a brown liquid that looks like murky water. *gag*
Malt, it's what makes beer sweet. Without malt, beer would be a carbonated, nasty tasting coffee/tea liquid.
Hops, this enhances the beer. It's kind of like a condiment. Like seasoning on a cut of meat, it enhances flavor and overall aroma of the beer. It's what seperates good, high quality beers, from low quality cheap beers.
Other ingredients can include berries, and many other types of fruit. Whatever you can think of that will give the beer its kick.
How healthy can it be for you?

Well, it does contain atleast 20% of ur daily needs for fiber.
60% at most. Which i find good.
It can also lower cholesterol by slowing the digestion of food.
Did i mention also having a moderate ammount everynight has been proven to reduce stress and the chances of heart disease?
Or that it contains many vitamins and minerals, like magnesium, vitamin b, potassium phosphorus, selenium and biotin?
Not all bad right?

Lagers

Lagers tend to be more popular and more available because they are cheaper. Lager originally originated in Central Europe, and is made with bottom fermenting yeast. Lagers tend to have more of a "kick" to it. More like a soda then an ale would be like.
The most common lager consumed and produced in the world is pilsner. Which is much more carbonated then other beers.
Basically, if you enjoy a more carbonated beer, thats lighter with a more refreshing sense to it. You're in luck because you'll end up with more money in your pocket by choosing the lagers over ales.
Ale

Ales are prodominainantly made using yeasts that fermentate at a higher level then regular yeasts used in Lagers. This allows the beer to contain more flavor, but takes longer to brew. It is also brewed at considerably higher temperatures then lagers would be brewed at.
Since this beer type takes longer to brew, it is much more common for craft beers to be ales. This obviously results in higher prices. You get what you pay for.
The cheaper beers are typically lagers. Cause this type of beer takes much less time to make. Yet, lagers tend to be of lesser quality. Once again. You get what you pay for.

1 american is lost every 20 min due to alcohol related incidents.
50% of fatal car crashes including 2 or more cars are caused by alcohol related accidents.
Think you're safer because you choose to walk home drunk instead of driving home drunk?
maybe just a little.
But 36% of pedestrian accidents include an intoxicated pedestrian.
one out of an estimated 200-2,000 alcohol impaired drivers on the road get caught.
You're chances are slim of getting caught.
But, is it really worth it?

I think the answer is obvious.
Whats better?
spending those $20 maximum to get a taxi home, or risking death?
Once again, the choice is obvious.

Beer in Ireland

Beer, even though more of it is consumed in Czech Republic per capita. It isn't as traditional, or more of a custom as it is in Ireland. Going to certain pubs everyday is actually a tradition in Ireland. Many people think that pubs are solely places where you can sit and have a drink. But pubs can serve as many things, anywhere from social gathering places, to restaurants, music revenues, and even museums.
To further prove the traditional value of pubs in Ireland, many people bring their entire families to go out. The drinking age is 18 there, but children can come to eat, and if there is a band that day, enjoy music. Making pubs a great place to go out with your family.

Beer in Czech Republic

In the Czech Republic beer isn't just a beverage or refreshment, its a tradition, and to some, a way of life. The czech tradition of brewing beer goes back to the 11th century.
But, beer wasn't always good there. Before, Pilsner Urquell (Now, one of the Czech Republic's most renown breweries), made terrible beer. The beer in the beginning was so bad, several members of the town where the original Urquell brewery was, publicly threw out 36 barrels of the stuff in front of the town hall, in order to shame the brewers.
Ever since then, the actual members of the town have been running the brewery. And ever since the breweries were ran by the people of the town, the beer has become legendary. And drinking beer has become such a big part of the Czech lifestyle, that they rank first in the list of amount of beer consumed by person per year.
Importance of beer

Beer is believed to have helped the world develop to what it is today. Reason being it most likely independently invented amongst many cultures. Thus helping conjoin cultures, through their similarity of beer consumption. Before, beer was mostly made for personal use, or made for a family. Now that the use of beer has grown, there was a need to make actual beer brewing companies. This has created many jobs around the world.
Now, more then 35 billion gallons of beer are estimated to be consumed by the world each and every year. bringing in hundreds of billions of dollars each year in revenue for the wordly beer industry.
How it all started

Beer, the most common alcoholic beverage in the world. You see it at parties, restaurants, concerts, sporting events, and the list goes on and on. How did it originate?
Well, beer was first made in around 9000 bc, in the early Neolithic period.
There have writings found from ancient Egypt, and the Mesopotamians on beer. It was so important to the ancient egyptians that they created a prayer to the goddess Ninsaki. The lyrics include the process of making the beer, since writing it down would be useless since most ancient egyptians were illiterate.
